MESSMER-JACKSON Christmas 2012

We were so happy that we got to spent time with together with the Messmer's and the Jackson's to not only celebrate Grandma Messmer's (Coo-Coo's) 84th birthday - but to also celebrate Christmas.  We were also very happy to get some family pictures, even as painful as it can be sometimes getting the kids to all to smile in the same direction and at the same time. =)

MAKING CHRISTMAS TREATS

I have been waiting for the days when Gentry and I could do crafts together, cook together, and have fun in the process - of course.  Thanks to Pinterest - I saw this great idea to make Christmas Trees out of sugar cones.  Gentry loved it.  Anytime to get our hands messy is fun.....(ok, not all the time - but I know how to let go every now and again...).  So two things I have learn out of the process is:  1.)  Wax paper is necessary and makes for easy cleanup.  2.)  I WILL  do this every year with the kids.

We collected all kinds of foods to decorate with:  chocolate chips, sprinkles, white-chocolate covered raisins, 3 colors of icings, marsh mellows, and  M & Ms.....

I even found food decorating pins.....

....AND COOKIES.....

I finally put the seasonal cookie cutters I got at my wedding shower in 2003 to use.....It only took 9 years.

....AND NOW WE ARE READY FOR SANTA....
