Visiting Brother Barry
During a recent trip to Destin, Florida, we decided to touch base with an old friend. Barry Carpenter was our minister at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Lakeside Park. Barry is very special to us, as he was our minister during our pregnancy and loss of Avery. It was wonderful to hear him preach again.
We attended their contemporary service. His sermon that morning was entitled, "hakuna matata". They started by playing a clip from the movie "The Lion King". Well, that had Gentry's attention right away.....it was nice hearing his soft voice, warm approach, and motivational message reassuring the congregation to "give to God".
We you look back over your life of the people whom have left an impression on you, those whom have touched you in a special way, and those whom have left a piece of them with you.....Barry is that person. I pray he is happy and wish him the greatest blessings.
