Thanksgiving with the Messmer's

Thanksgiving was a beautiful sunny day this year.  Gentry, Robby, and Howie spent the earlier part of the day in the front yard at the Messmer's raking leaves.  Gentry had a blast, from raking with his own miniature rake, running and jumping in the leaves, and just running around.

At dinner, we all took time to write down what we were thankful for and share it with the family.  Gentry even got to do some of his own crafts....

Tis' the Season

This is a first....we couldn't wait....we put up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving, in fact the weekend before.  I'm not sure if it's because I'm home on maternity leave and getting antsy or feeling extra festive with Gentry getting older and understanding what the season is all about - the birth of our Savior and of course the fun of Santa.
Last Sunday after church, we all (including Gracie) changed into our Christmas pjs/comfy clothes to decorate.  Baby Daniel came up for a quick visit and luckily it was nice enough outside (in the 60's) for the kids to play.  Also, Gentry made Thanksgiving Day gifts for his teachers (Miss Laura and Miss Dawn), and put up the nativity scene.  (This is a very special set, it was given to us as a wedding gift from Len & Kathy Ours - such a great idea)

Hope you enjoy the pics...

Fun @ Parker's B-Day

Parker's birthday party was a blast, but the biggest excitement with it was:  it was Gentry's 1st overnight at a friend's house.  (Granted Parker is his cousin, but Gentry has only stayed overnight with either Grandma & Grandpa or Nana & Popaw's house)  So this was a big deal.  (Bonus:  we are so excited that Uncle B & Gigi have finally moved to Northern KY)

Gentry did great!  And we are so thankful that Uncle B & Gigi let him stay. =)

Parker had a Spider Man party and Gentry loved every minute.  From yummy food, delicious cake, silly string (which was a first) to Spider Man tattoos, and playing in the backyard with all the boys.
