Checking in

Life lately...thought I would take a few minutes (which I feel like I never have anymore)....and update everyone on how things have been with Gentry. First of all, he's everywhere and into everything. Just when you think he's hit a new milestone, he hits another almost immediately. From brushing his own teeth, to picking up on his manners, saying his A-B-C's, singing "Take me out to the ballgame", running faster than me, saying "I love you", climbing on everything, it's endless.

Another 1st: Gentry's 1st MLB Game

Gentry got to experience another first this weekend. Gentry went to a Major League Baseball game to see the National League Champions: the Cincinnati Reds. Thanks to Len and Kathy Ours for giving us great tickets on the lower deck along the first base line, Gentry got a clear picture of all the excitement. The best thing was he got to experience a homerun by Jay Bruce. Gentry's eyes were big and wide the entire 4 innings we stayed. Robby and I were very realistic in that we knew Gentry would not make it through the entire game. But four innings was impressive. That's longer than I usually last. I think my attention spane is shorter than Gentry's when it comes to baseball. (just kidding) Gentry would just sit in amazement - at least for the first 3 innings. He really didn't get too restless until the fourth. Robby was loving taking his little guy to the big ball park.....I tradition he has held with his dad for many years.

Gentry also enjoyed another great treat at the ball park: the food. Genty had a soft pretzel. Overall, I would say it was a success - - - I mean anytime we head out on an adventure and make it home in one piece is a success.

The Messmer family went to the church picnic the other day....Late, very late.

Gentry took a very long nap and we ended up being very late. But we decided to make the best of it. Grandma and Grandpa were still there....so we all played together.

Hanging out with Siena

Well, Gentry is super sad that his cousin Siena is heading south. Siena and her family are moving to Atlanta, Georgia. They leave in just a few days. So, Megan and I decided to get the kids together for a playdate at Chick-fil-a resturant.

Gentry and Siena attend the same daycare and are very close. Siena is always looking out for Gentry, making sure he's taken care of. You have probably send her on the blog before. Siena is such a sweetheart. We will definitely be making trips to Atlanta to visit. We look forward to the holidays and the birth of little Daniel after the first of the year, so we will be have great excuses to get the kids together and visit.
