Gentry's Big Boy Bed
Well, we finally took the blunge and converted Gentry's crib into a toddler bed. At 2 1/2 - I guess it's time. We were very luck that Gentry had never tried to climb out of his crib. I understand that is the reason most parents move their kids into the big bed....but we just thought Gentry was ready. And....the verdict is: success. With the exception of falling out of bed (only 1 foot off the ground), Gentry stays in his bed when he suppose to and is enjoying being treated like a big boy.
He decided to take the opportunity to re-decorate Gentry's room as well. He's a big sports fan.....loving all sports, basically anything with a ball.
So I found a cute toddler bedding set (not much of a selection out there) at Target. It represents all kinds of sports - so it's perfect. Since the initial updates: I've been able to find a Cincinnati Reds Stadium canvas, baseball lamp, and sports pillows. And we topped off the room with Cincinnati Reds bopple heads & a baseball which Robby has from Opening Day in 1990 (foul ball). Pretty cool. I'll try to share more pics as I make the finals touches.
Easter with the Messmer's
Easter 2011 was a little different this year - as Megan, Brandon, & Siena were not with us. But we did have a new addition to the celebration - Mr. Daniel Jackson. Gentry is loving spending time together with Baby Daniel. It will be wonderful to watch them grow up together.
Easter was a rainy day this past year.....so, no outdoor egg hunt. But it was still wonderful to being with family and continue our special traditions.

Catching up to do....
Okay, okay....I have been horrible over the last 2 months. I have not kept up with entries in Gentry's blog. But I have been extra busy, from traveling to India for work, Easter, Mother's day, birthdays, and updating Gentry's room.....including putting him in a "big boy bed". So apologies to the family and friends who enjoying keeping up with Gentry and his little adventures. I make a vow that in the next few days to let you know what Gentry has been up to over the last several months with pictures.
